The U.S. National Championship will be held in New Orleans, LA on September 17th 2011 at 12 noon at the Hotel Monteleone. It will consist of 3 rounds and a final. Each of the preliminary rounds will have a 2 hour time limit. The Finals will have no time limit.

The event will run concurrently with the Grand Masquerade in New Orleans so there will be plenty of sights and sounds to experience culminating in a fantastic festival Saturday night.

We will also run a draft on Sunday.

I hope everyone can make it. Everyone who does will have a good time with much merriment.

We will be having a draft on Sunday at noon. I will be a good time to shake off the cobwebs from Saturday Night's Bacchanalian.

The event listing on the web site doesn't appear to have been updated yet; is there a qualifying event being held at GM, or some other constructed tournament that can be entered at will?

The US National Championship is an 'open' event.
All players that attend will play.

Qualifying is not required.

We had a 15 player turnout.

Finals:
Kym Alishanni (Cock Robin + Friends) preying on
Morgan Tomlinson (Tremere S&B) preying on
Jim Foreman (Saulot nastiness) preying on
Devin Villegas (Weenie Laibon vote) preying on
Tony Munoz (Classical Arika Cheese)

Forgot who went first, but by the third turn Morgan was off to the races. IIRC, First turn info hwy, second turn Arcane Library. He had a ton of minions early, and wasted no time tearing into Jim.

I didn't have too much pressure as a result, so I started churning out minions and laying into Tony. However, once Tony got Arika off the ground Kym felt a lot of pressure.

Eventually Jim fell first, overwhelmed by the little dominate bleeders.

Shortly after Jim went down, Kym retaliated on the Arika, with a Pentex Subversion on the Queen of Sleaze and utterly demolishing her cohort with a rush. Tony was completely hamstrung, but Morgan's minions had grown out of control. I think he was up to around 12 at this point. What followed was a race for me to oust Tony (he had a decent chunk of pool) vs Kym dropping enough of Morgan's minions for me to push Arika off the table.

Unfortunately (for me), Dominate wins games and Morgan showed me why. With Kym not having enough actions to drop enough of Morgan's minions, he tore through myself and Tony in quick succession. Kym being top seed(iirc), with no hope of winning the game (Morgan had 3 vps), he gave it up. Tremere S&B sweeps.

Then we went to the CCP party @ the House of Blues (similar to the one from last year) and great times were had by all.
